For some reason this blog has received an unusual volume of traffic today. Are people preparing for Christmas? Starting to think about what to sing in front of the Yuletide fire?
I certainly am. I was going through the Oxford University Press's fine Carols for Choirs, when I realized the harmonies were very familiar. Seems that GIA arranged for the rights to use the OUP harmonies on many favorite Christmas carols.
Good thinking, because the harmonies are sweet. With such a thoughtfuly arranged hymnal my brave choir faces the future, which in the next few weeks includes Confirmation with the local bishop, as well as a new Mass setting for Advent, and Christmas.
But as for blog traffic, one search seems to lead folks to this blog almost every day: "As the bridegroom to his chosen."
