Nice!

We sang one of my favorite hymns today, I Know that My Redeemer Lives, and the choir ROCKED! They sing SATB hymnal arrangements very well to begin with. But the best part was the 4th verse. Our organist asked them to sing it in unison so that he could improvise on the organ, which he did, rather masterfully, and that was of course wonderful, but what really knocked your socks off was the LOUD, BLENDED, JOYOUS unison singing!

He lives, all glory to His name!
He lives, my Savior still the same!
What joy the blest assurance gives:
I know that my Redeemer lives!

I hear your organist stinks and plays all kinds of wrong notes and tries to cover it up by saying he is "improvising".....you should hire someone more competent....someone who is more familiar with the Danish Amen

Yah, but think about it: my new organist would have to play not only the Danish Amen and random cantatas, but would also have to have the skill of accompanying Gregorian Chant by playing the Gloria too fast. These skills might be more rare than you think!

You're kidding, right?

Where else would we find such classy handsome young talent, who is always on time, raring to go, can do 100 things at once, and maintains his sense of humor even in the midst of mayhem?

Perhaps these musical mishaps are trick of the light - hard to come by in the loft. ;)
